SBIR & Global Trade Summit - Mohegan Sun - Uncasville, CT. 2012 was held on 24-26 June in Uncasville (Connecticut) in the local Convention Center event. The prestigious status of this event was confirmed by the presence of : Governor Dannel P. Malloy State of Connecticut, DECD Commissioner Catherine Smith, State of Connecticut, Chris Van Buiten Vice President of Sikorsky Innovations, Sikorsky Aircraft, Dr. Kees W. Rietsema, Col, USAF. (Ret.) Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Worldwide, Robert E. Mansfield, Jr.., Brig Gen, USAF (Ret.) Executive Director, Center for Aviation and Aerospace Leadership Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Worldwide, Dr. Dave Ghosh Director of R & D National Research Council of Canada Energy, Mining & Environment and many others leaders and high ranked dignitaries. The event was attended by several hundred representatives of U.S. companies in the sector of small and medium size enterprises involved in the development of innovative processes and new technologies. This business summit was organized and hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Connecticut .Polish consulate’s Trade and Investment Section from New York represented by Consul Henry Sanecki was also present at this event. Consul Sanecki held meetings and talks with a groups of representatives of U.S. companies interested in establishing business contacts on the Polish market. Our stand of Polish Consulate, Trade and Investment Section was a good occasion to hold "one-on-one" meetings and the stand gathered much interest among participants of this summit.The main sponsors were institution Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), U.S. Commercial Service, Connecticut, District Export Council and companies Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky Innovations.Apart from Polish "table" the show was also attended by representatives of Great Britain, Taiwan, India, Brazil, Korea, and other countries from Southeast Asia. Among the leading large U.S. companies were: Sikorsky, USDA, UTC Power, UTRC, Sherwin Williams, Rolls-Royce (Marine), Raytheon, Pratt & Whitney, NIH, Northrop Grumman, NU, PPG Industries, Navy, Merck, MDA, Lockheed Martin, DARPA, DOE, Hamilton Sundstrad, Honda Energy, Technology Canada, Boeing, BASF, Air Force. During this event Consul Henryk Sanecki was interviewed by media and was able to share views and positive image of dynamic Polish economy and encouraged U.S. companies to locate their investments in Poland. Poland was the only country in the EU that could be proud of withstanding the the wave of global recession.
