(Bloomberg) -- Governor Marek Belka is counting on the zloty to help the Polish central bank keep interest rates at a record low. A pledge by policy makers to keep interest rates steady this year hinges on the Polish currency’s ability to stand its ground and avoid strengthening as the European Central Bank embarks on its quantitative-easing program, Belka said in an interview in Warsaw. So far, so good,” he said. “We haven’t seen anything that changes our baseline scenario. The zloty is holding up nicely.”
